Dr. Tunde Akanni is a journalist, media scholar and development expert with experiential assets in diverse communications practice and scholarship. He is currently a Journalism Lecturer and Development Expert in Lagos State University.

Dr. Akanni is an alumnus of Ilorin, Columbia, Leicester and Ibadan Universities as well as the Institute of Social Studies, Den Haag, Netherlands. He sits on a number of boards including those of the Premium Times Centre for Investigative for Journalism, PTCIJ, Ethics and Leadership Academy, Lagos. He is also a member of the International Advisory Board of Nigeria's first international indigenous fact-checking organization, Dubawa.
